The backstory is almost a parody of a certain kind of earnest dude: retreating to the woods with just a guitar to get over a breakup and sort out his crappy life. Etta James, Tell Mamma. The Rolling Stones covered Little Red Rooster in 1964 while Cream recorded a version of Spoonful two years later.
